What makes this technology so interesting? IIoT makes it possible to intelligently network different systems. This helps to improve the efficiency of operational processes, develop new business models and increase competitiveness. Intelligent sensors and their data play a key role in this process. SPIRIT/21 recognised the potential of this innovative topic early on and developed a powerful, industry-independent, open-source IIoT solution that links and processes data from any sensor, machine or IT system. The advantage is that a wide variety of application scenarios can be implemented with a single software platform.

In addition to digital solutions for crash tests or building automation, the range of implemented use cases ranges from the automatic readout of smart meters to the data acquisition of industrial machines and the automation of large IT environments. In Germany, the IIoT and automation platform of SPIRIT/21 is also being used very successfully in various smart city projects. The low-code platform offers precisely what cities and municipalities need - a flexible, scalable and secure IoT infrastructure that they can design themselves and operate economically. Stadtwerke Ludwigsburg-Kornwestheim, for example, has already developed a series of use cases implemented by the company itself.
