InfoPath 2013 and Nintex On-Premises coming to an end – Microsoft and Nintex are discontinuing support
Microsoft has officially confirmed the end of support for the InfoPath 2013 client. Microsoft will no longer provide updates or support services as of July 14, 2026. Nintex has also announced that it will discontinue support for the on-premises version of its workflow solution on December 31, 2025. Companies should therefore check early on which InfoPath forms and Nintex workflows are still in use – and plan a migration to modern alternatives in good time.
Why the end of Infopath support is forcing companies to take action
InfoPath 2013 was developed for creating and using electronic forms. Companies could use it to integrate data from different sources and support business processes. Many organizations still use the solution today, often in combination with SharePoint.
However, with the end of support, the basis for secure and stable operation will no longer exist.
Nintex On-Premises has enabled the automation of workflows in SharePoint environments for years – often in direct connection with InfoPath forms. However, with the end of support for both solutions, the basis for secure and stable operation will no longer exist.
At the same time, theInfoPath Forms Service in SharePoint Online is also being discontinued, which further increases the pressure to act.
These changes could jeopardize complex and important processes in your company. This is because you may be using InfoPath in combination with workflow solutions that play a fundamental supporting role in your company.
Take action now and tackle the transition
The end of support for InfoPath 2013 and Nintex makes migration inevitable. Organizations should use the remaining time to analyze their form and workflow landscape and switch to modern solutions in good time.
SPIRIT/21 supports you in three steps:
- Check the current status: We work with you to identify all affected forms and workflows.
- Suggest alternatives: Depending on the complexity and relevance of your processes, we recommend modern solutions such as
- Power Apps for interactive, customized forms,
- Power Automate for workflows and process automation, or
- Microsoft Forms for simple data collection and surveys.
- Plan and implement the changeover: We accompany you from strategy to implementation – in a structured, goal-oriented, and collaborative manner.
For on-premises environments, the procedure is similar, but with Nintex Automation K2/PowerAutomate Gateway based on SharePointSE.
