High-availability data center network with SDN and VXLAN

Customer requirement

A company needed a new, highly available network design for two active data centers. The goal was simple management, fast scalability and low latency - especially for multi-tenant customer environments.

Challenge

The architecture was to use modern spine-leaf design and SDN technologies. At the same time, close coupling between the layer 3 data centers using VXLAN was required - with simultaneous redundancy and performance optimization.

SPIRIT/21 solution

SPIRIT/21 developed and implemented a datacenter fabric with Cisco Nexus 9000, central management via DCNM and active-active operation based on Fortinet NGFWs. New customer environments can be rolled out quickly.
