Successful IT carve-out and SAP operation from the SPIRIT/21 data center

Customer requirement

An international industrial company commissioned SPIRIT/21 to take over and operate its entire data center applications. In addition to the SAP basis and data center infrastructure, the operation of decentralized storage units in Germany, China, and Hungary also had to be ensured.

Challenge

The existing IT infrastructure was to be carved out of the previous corporate context in just six months. The project was made even more complex by the fact that it was awarded to three different service providers, which meant that numerous interfaces and increased coordination efforts had to be managed.

SPIRIT/21 solution

SPIRIT/21 developed a clearly structured migration approach for 26 SAP systems and successfully transferred them to a virtualized environment in its own data center. Following the successful transformation, SPIRIT/21 also took over the operation of the SAP systems and the decentralized infrastructure. All systems were seamlessly integrated into the existing service structure.
