Comprehensive knowledge about the workloads which need to be migrated is key. An AWS Optimization and Licensing Assessment (OLA) offers you a detailed, tool-based insight into your existing environment and its actual capacity utilisation. Our team supports you right from the start and assists you in the implementation of the necessary tools. Your efforts involved rarely exceed two to three hours. The data can be collected with the help of our tools, which function without any external connections or internet access.

Based on the collected performance data and the individually provided cloud scenarios, this assessment is the optimal basis for planning your migration.

Your migration in three steps

SPIRIT/21 uses the AWS „Migration Acceleration Program“ („MAP“) which structures migrations in three phases:

Phase 1: Assess

An important part of migration planning and preparation is the assessment phase. In this phase we analyse your existing environment focusing on technical, financial, organisational and sustainability aspects, to name a few, and work together to define the next steps. To support the data collection, we conduct an AWS Optimization and Licensing Assessment. 

Phase 2: Mobilize

Based on this, we work together to create a migration plan and define which migration strategy is suitable for which application (6 R's). The creation of the SPIRIT/21 Cloud Launch Platform as the basis for all applications is also carried out based on your requirements within this phase. 

Phase 3: Migrate & Modernize

Here, the actual migration is carried out and the applications are transferred into operation. This is followed by various optimizations of the infrastructure to utilise cloud potential and reduce operating costs.
